Infiniti has announced that it will be showcasing its EMERG-E sports car concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, marking the first time the vehicle has been seen in action.
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year in stationary form, the UK-designed and built concept is to be shown operating under the control of Formula 1 pilot Mark Webber on Saturday.
"The Festival of Speed crowds will be seeing EMERG-E in action for the first time ever, even before many of Infiniti's top executives have seen it," claimed Jerry Hardcastle, Infiniti's global chief marketability engineer, of the event. "Goodwood's spectators will see not just an exquisite design but a superb example of Infiniti combining our own technologies with those of our partners to create an environmentally-friendly car, brimming with true Infiniti driver appeal."
Also tipped to appear at the event are the Inifiti FX 'Vetell Edition,' driven by Sebastian Vettel himself and due to be produced in extremely limited numbers with just 50 being made available for purchase in Europe, and the company's M35h hybrid, claimed to be the world's fastest-accelerating petrol/electric hybrid saloon.
"Like the Festival of Speed, Infiniti is driven by performance which is why it is a pleasure for us to take a leading role in this year's event," claimed Bernard Loire, vice president of Infiniti's EMEA division, of the decision to have a major presence at the event this year. "The display both on the track and in the Infiniti lounge embodies the company’s unique approach in such an exciting way."
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs between the 28th June and 1st July.
